Z scale 19th Century or typical Rocky Mountain Branch Water Station
- #1005 - $38.00 |
Unsupervised metalworking is not recommended for children
under the age of 14 years. |
From the 1860s to the early 20 th Century these elegant
water stations were built throughout the West. The strong center top posts
were often lathe turned, resembling the finials seen on much of 19 th Century
furniture. This kit contains an alternative roof cap for those who desire
the 1930s appearance. Examples of some earlier subassemblies are shown above.
One baggage cart is also included in this kit because I have seen old photos
of water stations where the rail workers were using a baggage cart to convey
maintenance equipment. The water spout moves up and down and the frost box
door will open and close. Z scale footprint is 1.05" long x 0.85"
wide. |
